PRP And PRF Can Help Heal And Rejuvenate
Platelets are the cells in your blood that form a plug or clot when you’re injured to stop the bleeding. They also contain multiple types of growth factors and healing substances. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is obtained by isolating the portion of your blood that contains the platelets and then concentrating it so that it has up to ten times the number found in whole blood. When PRP is allowed to clot or gel, it’s referred to as platelet rich fibrin (PRF).
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and platelet rich fibrin (PRF) therapies have shown benefits in:
Accelerating healing
Regenerating tissue
Arthritis, tendonitis, trigger finger, plantar fasciitis, and other musculoskeletal problems
Chronic dry eyes
Pricing
PRP and PRF treatment prices start at $290, depending on the type of treatment.

What Are the Benefits of PRP?
In clinical trials in patients with knee arthritis where PRP was compared to a cortisone injection, PRP was more effective.
At Skinspirations, we’ve had impressive results with PRP therapy for tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and chronic dry eyes (PRP eye drops for home use).
Plantar fasciitis is often completely relieved with just one PRP treatment at Skinspirations.
Hair thickening can be often be achieved with a series of three PRF treatments.
Patients report better results with PRP or PRF combined with Microneedling vs. Microneedling alone.
What happens during a PRP treatment?
PRP treatments require a blood sample but our medical assistants are so smooth you’ll probably barely feel it. The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the yellowish platelet portion of blood (plasma) from the red and white blood cells. The plasma is then centrifuged to concentrate the platelet portion of the liquid at the bottom of the tube. We use this most concentrated plasma for your treatment.
PRP can be painted over the tiny holes made by microneedling or a Profractional treatment to deliver it into the deeper layers of skin or it can be injected. We put it into sterile eyedropper bottles to take home for dry eyes.
Are there risks with PRP treatments?
As with any injection, there are risks of bruising and the rare chance of infection from the needle puncture.
When used for arthritis, tendonitis, or plantar fasciitis, there is sometimes increased soreness at the injection site for the first few days after treatment.
There is a slight risk of infection when using PRP for dry eyes if the bottle contents become contaminated.
