Repair, Replace & Regenerate By Harnessing the Healing Powers of Your Own Cells

Regenerative medicine, which uses the body’s own healing processes to repair and replace multiple types of tissues, is the most exciting area in medicine today and is revolutionizing healthcare. Using concentrated reparative growth factors and tissue signaling substances derived from blood, fat, and bone marrow, tissues can be repaired or replaced safely without surgery or medications.

Stem cells taken from fat helped our patient avoid a knee replacement

A treatment using healing factors isolated from this patient’s fat allowed him to continue his daily exercise without a knee replacement.

Stem Cells and Exosomes

Stem cells are cells that can transform into multiple types of tissue and they’re found throughout the body.  They’re responsible for replacing dying cells and regenerating damaged tissue. Treatments using stem cells have shown promising results in spinal cord injuries, cardiovascular disease, neurological problems, severe arthritis, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases. Most people are familiar with bone marrow transplants, a form of stem cell treatment used for over 40 years. Stem cells are attracted to areas of injury and disease where they can change into a variety of cell and tissue types—including bone, cartilage, blood vessels, muscles, nerves, and skin. In the last few years, it’s been found that there are also abundant stem cells in fat.

Stem cells can release little packets, called exosomes, full of multiple types of anti-inflammatory growth factors that help reduce inflammation, enhance immune function, and replace damaged tissue. Exosomes are now being researched for multiple medical uses including orthopedic and cosmetic. A mesenchymal stem cell (12 to 18 microns) is 1,000 times larger than an exosome and for comparison, a hair is 80,000 nanometers. Therefore, exosomes injected into a joint or tissue can have concentrations of 100,000 or more times that of any stem cell treatment.

Exosomes can be isolated from donated umbilical and placental tissue, with virtually no chance of a foreign body reaction.

Adipose-derived Healing Factor Treatments – The Fat Factors

It’s well known that facial fat grafting results in improved skin texture & appearance, which is the result of stem cells & other growth factors released during the transfer. Adipose tissue is rich in the blood vessels around which stem cells are located and is relatively abundant in most people, making it an excellent source of stem cells for treatments. Skinspirations provides several kinds of fat factor treatments including nanofat, micro fat grafting and musculoskeletal treatments.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

plantar fasciitis can be treated with PRPPRP is used as a therapy for many conditions including tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, muscle strains, damaged skin, hair loss, & even for severe dry eyes. The procedure is quick, relatively painless, and requires no post-procedure care or time off from daily events. A small amount of blood will be drawn from you, the PRP is separated out, and it’s then used for your treatment. In the case of dry eyes, it’s sent home with you in sterile dropper bottles.

Regenerative Musculoskeletal Treatments

Injected stem cells and exosomes that contain growth factors have been shown to promote the healing of injured joints, stimulate cartilage growth and decrease the pain from chronic arthritis.

Since many of our patients seeking aesthetic treatments are at an age that they’re experiencing problems like arthritis, and our goal is to help people look & feel better both from the outside as well as the inside, we offer regenerative therapies including adipose-derived healing factors, exosome treatments and PRP (platelet rich plasma).

The procedure for fat-derived healing factor therapy involves obtaining a few ounces of fat by mini-liposuction under local anesthetic, separating out the healing factors from the fat, and then injecting these into the affected areas.
