“One of my favorite things as an esthetician is when a patient comes in flashing that beautiful engagement ring and tells me they are getting married” – Gale Pingleton.

It’s easy to focus on big things like the dress, hair, and makeup but don’t forget that your skin is basically the foundation on which all of these things sit. Taking the time to care for your skin will ensure that you are the best possible version of yourself on the big day.

We’ve outlined a general skin care guide that would be beneficial for most anyone preparing for a big event.

  • 6 months – Consult with an aesthetic specialist to determine your goals for your appearance. Don’t be afraid to discuss budget. It is our job to help you maximize your results for the money you have to work with, so being realistic will help to ease your stress instead of adding to it. If desired, have an assessment for CoolSculpting to reduce & smooth any areas of stubborn fat.

  • 5 months – Start on a customized professional skin care regimen of at home products that target your skin’s needs & begin your corrective in office skin care treatments. A series of 3 micro needling or chemical peel treatments can help to address skin texture, pore size and/or hyper pigmentation.

  • 4 months – Have your first Botox & injectable filler treatments this month. Be sure to complete your CoolSculpting treatment by the end of this month so you are at full results for your event. We recommend starting your lashes on Latisse in order to achieve the most dramatic results in time for your event.

  • 3 months – Finish up the last of your corrective skin care treatments this month and try out your makeup looks.

  • 2 months – Get either a Hydrafacial or Dermaplaning. Both make excellent pre event facials and leave skin looking absolutely luminous in the days following treatment. Together you & your esthetician will decide which is best for you and can try it out this month to be sure that your skin responds well to it.

  • 1 month – Have another Botox treatment and any filler touch up that may be necessary. Do not try anything new! This includes skin care products, laundry detergent, everything.

  • The week of – Have your pre-event facial and don’t forget to enjoy this time in your life.
